Saturday I shot a wedding in my hometown of Amherst, MA. I really love very small weddings and Jennifer and Denise had a very intimate ceremony at Jennifer's parent's house followed by a small gathering of close friends and family. It was a beautiful setting in their garden and there were lots of meaningful details like the bracelet that Jennifer's grandmother wore every day after first arriving in America, or the gold leaf pins cast from a 200 year old Oak Tree. Jennifer's dad is also a photographer (with a darkroom in the basement!) and both of the brides are artists as well. Denise used part of her preferred media of paint sample cards as place cards and entree description cards and Jennifer's mom made their cake.
It was such an honor to be asked to document their day and to be surrounded by their beautiful artwork. I was also surprised to see my high school guidance counselor there (yikes)! We had some interesting conversations about the old high school days:) Since Jennifer is also an Amherst native, I wondered if I would bump into anyone I knew and I guess I did!

This table was filled with pictures of the Bride's grandparents as well as the unity candle.
It was too windy during the ceremony to lite the candle but they were successful after.
