Jen & Mike's Wedding

Saturday was Jen and Mike's wedding and my first introduction to the Boston Boy Choir at St. Paul Parish in Cambridge. I have to say that they sounded so spectacular that I was brought to tears during the ceremony. I suggest that you go and listen to them, even if you're not catholic, even if you're not religious at all. They are amazing!

After the ceremony was over we headed to JFK Park for the formals, then to Harvard Square where Chris got a couple of my favorite shots of Jen and Mike. They had scheduled an extra hour from the time the ceremony ended until the cocktail hour started which is a great idea if you want to have plenty of time for photography. We finished all the formals and romantics and Jen and Mike still had an extra 15 minutes to be alone together before spending the entire cocktail hour with their guests!

Walkie-talkies are a great way of communicating and making sure you know the the groom's 20 at all times!

I love this shot of Jen I got when I was hiding in the other room. It looks like it was set up, but she was just standing there like that.

This is the first of Chris' shots that I absolutely love!

Here's my other favorite shot by Chris.

Melissa & Matt's Wedding

Friday Melissa and Matt were married at the beautiful Harding Allen Estate in Barre, MA. Yesterday I got a wonderful email from the Matron of Honor and sister of the bride:

"Melissa,

I only saw the few pictures in the slide show last Friday night and I can tell that you really captured my sister Mel's wedding perfectly! You were a pleasure to work with, you seemed to be everywhere but never in the way of anything. That is such a wonderful attribute for a wedding photographer.

I can't wait to see all the pictures and order a few of my precocious children. I'm still not sure where my son got his dance moves or why my daughter was scared to walk down the aisle but not to stand on the stage.

Thank you again for being so nice.

Rachel"

These kinds of emails are what makes me love my job so much. Even right now when I'm operating on very little sleep, lots of editing, lots of shooting and it feels like I'm never going to get to spend any time with my family I know it's the busy season and it's only temporary. It makes me feel good to know that I'm helping people remember and cherish one of the best days they will ever have and thank you Rachel for helping me do that.
