May Boudoir Marathon

Last month was our first annual boudoir marathon! We held the shoot at the beautiful Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge. This hotel is the perfect place for a shoot like this with well lit rooms beautiful red velvet upholstery and leopard print rugs and accent pillows it just screams boudoir.

I was lucky enough to have worked with two very talented ladies who made these women even more beautiful than they already were. Valerie Marsoobian was our talented makeup artist and and Danielle Cassiani did an amazing job with the girl's hair. Valerie and Danielle were two of my early boudoir clients and I'm so lucky to have met them!

I started shooting boudoir a few months ago and immediately fell in love. You can find so many beautiful landscapes within a woman's body and I really like to approach shooting in a more abstract kind of way.

Here are a few of the lucky ladies who participated. Thank you for allowing me to post these images online!

Boudoir Part Deux

Some of you may have read our recent Valentine's Day Boudoir post but for those of you who are not as intimately familiar with the popularity and prevalence of boudoir photography, here is a little background information:

Boudoir means "bedroom" in French. Deriving from the French verb bouder, meaning "to pout," a boudoir was originally defined as a "pouting room" where, in earlier times, a sulky young lady might be sent so she could pout in private. By modern standards, boudoir photographs are anything but sulky! As you will see below, they are intimate portraits that celebrate the beauty of the female form.

As my first assignment as Melissa's intern, I had the pleasure of assisting a pre-Valentine's Day boudoir shoot with the lovely Valerie. A special thanks to her sister, Nicole, for assisting with hair and makeup and to Valerie for bringing the best props...cupcakes, roses and beautiful intimate apparel.

Introducing the lovely Valerie...

Boudoir shoots aren't just for Valentine's Day! Boudoir shoots and related gifts like boudoir books are increasing popular among bridal clients looking to surprise their husbands with a unique wedding present. Whatever your occasion, if you are interested in booking a shoot, please contact the studio to make a reservation.

I would love to hear your thoughts! What did you think of this post?
