Kara & John's Wedding

Yesterday Kara & John were married at the Old West Church in Boston. The day started out out beautiful, but after the ceremony the rain began to fall. Fortunately, Kara had scheduled an extra hour for photos between the ceremony and cocktail hour so after we returned to the Boston Hyatt from the Public Garden, we waited for the rain to stop and then headed back out for more photos! There's not much greenery around the hotel, but I thought it would be cool to take some shots in Downtown Crossing. They were really great about it, even when a stranger tried to give her big kiss to "congratulate" her and John. :O

As we walked back to the hotel past the Opera House, we noticed there were people coming in and out so decided to see if we could take a few photos in the lobby. The guard was so nice and even asked some tourists to leave the area where we were shooting so we could be alone! As we walked back past the lobby to the other space he had cleared we turned the corner and saw the decorated high top tables in front of the staircase and then realized that he had mistaken Kara and John for the bride and groom who were actually having their wedding there later on!! I guess that's what he meant when he told the tourists this was a "private function". So Kara and John can say they were wedding crashers on their own wedding day!

Here are some photos from the downtown shoot as well as some of my favorites from the rest of the day:

Right after the flower girl, Kara's niece Kaleigh, ran down the isle with her arms pointed behind her like an airplane, she stopped to give her daddy a kiss.

Chris was up in the balcony with his super wide angle view of the ceremony. All other super wide shots see here are courtesy of Chris Mulready.

In the Public Garden right before the rain.

One of my faves!

Sheena & Bryce Part II

Sheena and Bryce had been dreaming of a sunset engagement shoot on the beach for months, and when we first tried last month on Nahant we were rained out. We did get a small window of sunshine which was quickly followed by an amazingly beautiful rainbow, which was then followed by a strong downpour, which was then followed by all of us going home disappointed. So we decided to give it another try and rescheduled for this past weekend and yes...it rained again. There was a debate on whether we should reschedule one more time, but with the wedding approaching fast, Sheena and Bryce decided to have some fun and move the shoot downtown.

These photos are so different from the originals, but I love the feel of the city and architecture in them and think they are a great compliment to the first shoot.

These first few were taken at the world headquarters of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston.

My favorite:)

On the green line...

Our final stop at Jillians on Lansdowne St.

Can't wait to see you guys in August!!!

Florence & Greg's Wedding

Yesterday was the big day for Florence & Greg. They were married at the Charles River Country Club in Newton and their wedding had many special touches. A lot of Greg's family came from South Africa including his grandmother who made Florence's bouquet as well as their wedding cake. In fact, she had the cake shipped over well before the wedding and then assembled and finished it when she arrived. Florence also had a very beautiful and unique dress designed by French designer Susann Ermann. It was perfect for her and fit her fun, loving, lighthearted and French style.

I'm so thrilled that they chose me to be a part of and document their their special day, and also that I got the chance to know them, as they are one of my favorite couples as of yet!

Here is another view of the dress. I wanted to emphasize the hoop and ribbon detail.

Chris got this great shot of Greg's brother getting ready.

One of the things I love about Florence is her 30's style hair.

Greg waiting before the first look.

They also had an amazing band! They played a lot of great funk and the crowd loved them!
